Mr. Spell

Luke: "I know how to spell tv.
A R E F A..."
He spelled my name the same way a while back.

Dress for Success? No. Comfort!

I put on a blue shirt the other day that exactly matched my jeans.  I felt like it was a bit too much blue so put on some khaki pants instead.  Mind you, very casual khaki pants.
When the boys got in the car after school, Andrew looked at me and yelled, "Wow Mommy!  You look so nice today!"
A couple of days later, as Luke and I were in the carpool line, I saw a little girl with a really cute sparkly skirt.  I pointed it out to Luke and he said, "Probably someday you could wear a skirt."

Apparently my retirement attire has become slightly too predictable?  But not sure I can give up the jeans/tshirt/tennis shoes combo!

Weddings are for Cakes

Luke spotted the wedding cakes at the grocery store and insisted we get one. I told him those were just for weddings so he said I could have a wedding. I explained that I already was married to Daddy so he said, "Well, Nana can get married to somebody. We need a cake!"
You should all be impressed that I didn't actually buy the cake even though I really wanted to!

You Know A Hearing Aid Would Kill Me

Ryan was preparing for a report he had to do at school about Zimbabwe. One of his facts is that sadly the life expectancy is only 40 because of AIDS.
I was going over it with him to make sure he knew what to say when he said, "I got it. They die early because they have hearing aids."

Presidential Pedestrians

President Obama came to Oklahoma this week. I told the boys to watch out the windows for Air Force One as we were driving because we are in the flight path that the Air Force base uses.
Ryan asked where Obama was going and I said he would go from Tinker to downtown OKC. He asked, "Won't the guys that walk beside his car get tired if they have to walk that whole way?"

The Cleanest Paws in Town

While walking Matty last night, she had several potty stops.  At one of them, Luke asked, "How her going to wash her hands after her potty?"  I laughed and said that dogs don't really have to wash their hands like we do.
A bit further on Matty found a puddle to splash in.  Luke saw it and said, "Good.  Her wash her hands.  Now how her going to dry them?"

Birthday Belly Laughs

We recently celebrated Don's 40th birthday!  Here are a couple of good birthday pics.

This is a "tiny balloon" on purpose.  Luke loves tiny things and when we decorated for the party, he insisted I make one of the balloons tiny.

This is a card Ryan made for Don!

Toot Toot

I smelled something suspicious as I was getting Luke's jammies on him tonight so I asked him if he tooted.  He looked like he was thinking very hard and said, "I don't feel like I tooted."

Mooning

Luke looked up at the full moon tonight and said, "Look - there is a whole moon!"
