Spelling Woes

Poor Ryan is having trouble with one of his spelling words this week. He keeps getting the letters mixed up. I wonder if his teacher has noticed...

Word - Hero
Ryan's word - Hore

The Daily Tattler

As I was changing Luke's diaper, he asked, "You got poopy on you hands?"
I said I didn't think so but that I would wash my hands when I was done just in case.
He replied, "If you got poopy on you hands, I will tell you friends!"

Peanut Butter Poetry

Cleaning out some old papers today and found Ryan's 1st grade journal. Found an entry near the back that I had missed before... I am going to write it just as he did. Let me know if you need help with the translation!! :)

"My frend the penet buter and jely sandwich liks to run arounded every sengle day. He plays and plays and play till the sun gose downe. He lives in the jugle. He ets himself!
When he jumps stuff fall off. He is scerd of children.

Interesting question from Andrew on the way home from school today...
"What's juvie? Some sort of kid jail?"

I bet the teacher hears some interesting conversations throughout her entire day!!

It's a Short Menu

Here is another oldie but goodie... Seems like we've not had much funny happen recently or we are just too busy to notice!!!

A couple of years ago, the boys were learning about Moses in Sunday School.
Around the same time, Ryan was having a pity party about something he wanted but couldn't have.
I told him to be thankful for what he has and quit complaining - a lot of people have nothing.
Andrew piped in with, "Yeah. Think of those people that walked around the desert for a million years. They were hungry and all they ever got to eat was mayonnaise. Yuck!"
Mayo... Manna... Would probably get old either way!

That's a Great Partner!

I wish I had pictures to illustrate this one...
Yesterday in karate, the kids were told to line up in pairs, back to back, and do a chair squat. So basically a wall squat but using the other person's back instead of the wall.
Ryan and Andrew were partners.
I was only half watching at first because I was helping Luke with something on my phone.
I hear lots of people huffing and puffing because of course these are difficult.
I look over at Ryan and his face is beet red and he looks like he is about to fall.
No wonder why as I see that he is in a deep squat and bent over. He had to do that because Andrew is stretched back leisurely, basically laying over Ryan!
Andrew hadn't broken a sweat.

Gotta Think Big

Don offered to take the boys to Home Depot today to buy some scraps of wood for a project. He was thinking about helping them make a birdhouse, bat house, something small.
Andrew squealed and said, "Yes!! Let's make a treehouse!"
(Like a huge one for the 3 of them to play in). Not quite what Don had in mind...
