Look Ma! No Hands!

Luke's friend, Lauren, did a handstand in the pool and I saw it and told her it was great. Luke scoffed and said, "I can touch the bottom... with my feet!"

A Cup of Sugar and a Pinch of Piano

Recently discovered that the library has some sheet music to check out and found a book full of Disney music. I showed it to Luke and he yelled, "Wow! It's a music cookbook!!"

At the Movies

Luke bought himself an Eric doll today. (Eric is the prince from The Little Mermaid).
In the car, he had Rapunzel (his stuffed puppy previously know as Woof-woof). Rapunzel and Eric immediately started playing together.
I told him he needed to introduce Eric to her and he said, "Oh she knows him. She's seen the movie."

Preschool Soap Opera

"Larsen loves Campbell and they are not even maaaaaarried!!!"

This was what Luke told me today about 2 of the kids in his preschool class. And he acted like it was the biggest scandal he had ever known.

There's a Reason Why I Don't Homeschool

Luke was singing his "days of the week" song to me over and over.  "Sunday Monday, Tuesday Wednesday, Thursday Friday Saturday...  There are seven days, there are seven days, there are seven days in a weeeeek!"
Just to avoid him starting it for the millionth time, I started singing Eight Days a Week.
When I was done it hit me that I might have messed up what he was learning so I said, "You know that's just a song right?  There's not really eight days in a week."
He replied, "I know.  There's 6 days in a week!"
Oops.

Vacation Funnies

Here are some funnies from a recent trip to Missouri...

Ryan - it's 7:20 and we aren't gone yet?  I didn't  know we were sleeping in!

Ryan - in pitch dark as we pulled up to a stoplight - this looks just like Oklahoma!

Andrew and Luke missed out on candy for arguing.  I gave the usual speech of "we are on vacation - can't you guys just be nice and enjoy the scenery on the drive!"
A few minutes later as we drive past a junk yard in Luther, Andrew exclaimed, "oh this is beautiful!"
(And yes, we were just a few miles from home when the first argument broke out!)

Andrew - hey mommy!  We're gambling in here!

Andrew - Luke, don't teach anybody at school how to play poker.
