Date Night

I took Luke to see Disney on Ice.
Let me stop right there to clear up a couple of things.  First, there were TONS of little boys there and not all of them were babies with older sisters (and we wouldn't have cared even if Luke was the only boy there!).  And second, the finale of the show was all Tangled and you know we love that.  And third, Rapunzel waved at him.  Best. Disney on Ice.  Ever!
Here's the funny part though...  It's our conversation on the way back out to the car:

Me:  Thanks for going on a date with me, Luke!!
Luke:  What?  This was a date?
M: Yep!
L: But all we did was watch a show.  Is that a date?
M:  Sure.  When Daddy and I go on a date, we usually just eat dinner and then see a movie.
L: Well I didn't get dinner.

Never mind the fact that I had made him dinner before we left.  I do have to give the kid credit though.  He did not beg for the $12 snow cone (no lie - $12!) or the $10 popcorn!!  He was happy with the apple I had in my purse.  For that he earned a Flynn Rider sword.
And he was completely freaked out by the midway at the Fair, so I think I don't need to be concerned he'll end up as a fair carny!!

Musical Tragedy

My iPod died and Luke and I were forced to listen to the radio in the car.  As I searched through the radio stations for a song that we could both enjoy, he said, "Mommy the radio isn't working right.  It's skipping."

She's Too Young for Him

Happy 5th Birthday, Luke!!!

Today I went to his school for his birthday party and saw a cute little girl.  I asked him about her and he told me her name.  I said I thought she was cute and he replied, "Yeah.  But she's only four."

Song Titles by Luke

Luke doesn't always know the names of songs but he knows what he likes. The other day he asked if he could listen to "turn me up when you feel low" on my iPod. Funny thing is, I knew exactly what song he wanted!
